A Women Owned Business Idea

I read an excellent article today regarding women owned businesses - I am amazed at all the different idea there are out there but this one idea in particular, I have never thought of!

The article is: Women in Business Today and it's a good read, packed full of information. Definitely worth reading if you're a woman looking to start your own business. I must honestly say, the thought of running my own business scares me but the more I look into the idea and learn about the opportunities the more I think I'd love to do it.

Ahh, Father's Day

It's sad, I know, but I have no idea what to get CJ for Father's Day. I guess I have like no imagination - OR - I just don't pay close enough attention to him to know what he wants. Oh wait, he wants guitars...

I prefer to shop online. In fact, the online site to find the best buy is buy.com - at least that's been my experience. I just need to get creative here. Everything e wants is so damn expensive and well, we live in a money pit.

I'm just bitter - we had a toilet problem with wound up costing us $371! Oh the joys of being a homeowner - I hate it.

Educate Yourself as a Parent

It's extremely important to me to be as informed as I possibly can be when it comes to parenting. The internet has certainly opened up an array of information sources to me - some good, some not so good. I try to stick with well known, reputable sites when it comes to gaining knowledge.

Recently I found out that more and more hospitals and health education centers are using live satellite webcasts to reach the general public and educate people.

Often times parents and health officials are invited to watch a webcast regarding the latest in research and technology regarding a particular health issue. In some cases, those who participate in viewing a webcast will receive continuing education credits.

This is definitely going to be added to my list of ways to gain useful knowledge!

My Biological Clock is Ticking

As crazy as my life is, I still think about having another baby. I have 3 beautiful children and getting pregnant with each one of them was easy. In fact, one was a bit of a surprise. I never thought I would have trouble conceiving because well, I never have in the past.

So here I am, almost 36 years old and thinking about having just one more baby. We've had months of carelessness and still, even when I thought, 'oh I bet I'm pregnant' it's always turned out that I wasn't. It's to the point where I'm starting to look up ways to conceive - I mean, am I suddenly doing it wrong?! Ha!

In my quest to figure out the most effective way to get pregnant, I've come across lots of useful information regarding how to get pregnant fast and surprisingly, even though many things seem like common sense, they are things I just never thought of!

Vacation Switch?

I am a HUGE Disney World vacation fan - that is obvious! Some people just don't 'get' that.

For instance, my mom, who, even though she loved going to Disney with us in 2008, already said she has no desire to go back for another 5 years or so. To a person like me, that is unheard of!

Mom and Frank like to go to the shore every year. A friend of theirs, Margaret, owns a condo in Maryland and so they've started to make that trip an every year occurrence. While the place looks nice, from the pictures I've seen, I don't think that's the place I'd choose to go for a beach vacation.

I'd much rather choose a place like the Outer Banks and stay in a place like this:

I love the look of this particular beach house and the price is very reasonable! In fact, I can afford to take my family here for a week and still have a Disney vacation every year!

My Little Man

See? This is ODD! The boys don't normally sleep during the day yet lately it's been the norm. My little Wyatt, he didn't even want to eat lunch.

Maybe I need to whip out the old lab coat and go into 'nurse mode' as my friend Cherie calls it, lol.

In all seriousness though, no one here has a fever - just an awful cough and well, I suppose no appetite. I hope everyone sleeps well tonight. I hate when they can't sleep, my poor babies.

Cough, Gag, Sneeze

Those are the only sounds heard in this house for the last week! My poor babies have a wicked cold. They don't have fevers anymore but now the coughing has started. Poor Wyatt coughed so bad today he vomited and that usually never happens to him.

Of course this happens right after my mom buys some really nice kids clothes for them. Already two outfits are pretty much ruined. *sigh* I called the pediatrician but at this point there's no fever, no trouble breathing and they're all eating, drinking and playing so no reason to be seen. My luck something will happen while we're away over the weekend.

Cute Baby Gift Basket

As I was searching for baby gift baskets, I came across this one - isn't it adorable?

Fortunately, I was on a Disney vacation with my family this month but unfortunately it was over my friend Cindy's baby shower. She is having a boy but well, you know how that can go so I thought I'd be safe by getting something with ducks on it.

I actually love going to baby showers, they give me such a nostalgic feeling.

What Is Gong On?

I know all this flu business has been quite the topic for a while now and honestly, when we went to Disney I was a bit anxious about it. We made sure to wash our hands often and I wiped down tables with Clorox wipes. The kids were fine. This week, the kids are not fine. Now, the incubation period is 7 days - we were in Disney from 4/29 - 5/6 so we're way past 7 days.

First it was Olivia with a cough - worse than her 'normal' allergy cough. Then, on Saturday Dante had a fever and said he was cold and by Sunday he was absolutely fine. Sunday night Wyatt started a fever and coughed off and on all night. This morning he was okay - but now the fever has returned. He says he's cold, he didn't want to eat lunch and has wrapped himself in a blanket on the floor:

I'm supposed to be looking online for bridal accessories for the wedding I am helping to plan but instead I'm looking up things about fevers and child illnesses. Argh! Them getting sick this time of year is just so odd...

Gee, What a Lovely May Day

I wonder if you can hear the sarcasm in my voice? It's cold outside today - much too cold for the middle of May! Seriously, yesterday the kids were outside in shorts and t-shirts. Here's Livi and Dante:

Today? They not only have jackets on, they have on pants, boots and gloves! What in the world is going on Mother Nature?! Am I supposed to shop for kids clothes in a backwards sort of fashion? Summer clothes in Winter and Winter clothes in Summer!

Posting Entries on Vacation

When we were in Disney I REALLY wanted to send live updates from my Blackberry to my Family Disney Vacations blog - I thought it would be super cool for my readers to be able to follow along with our vacation. I wound up only being ale to post one entry.

It's amazing, as much as I love blogging, I realized I needed a break. I wound up sending pictures and updates to my Facebook account and that worked out well, although, I swear, Disney needs to surround themselves with more cell towers or soemthing because there were many instances where I wasn't picking up service.

Posting updates this way has really helped me write my trip report too because I can just look back and see what we were doing and when!

A Disney Baby

My friend, Shannon, told me to make a 'Disney Baby' while on vacation, hahahaa! Well, no we didn't make a Disney Baby on vacation but the thoughts of another baby are still floating around here. I'd kinda like to get a brand new wardrobe of maternity clothing if we decide to go for it!

But then...there are those days. You know the kind, where you just want to run screaming because the kids are driving you crazy and you say NO MORE KIDS! Yea, I've had many of those days lately...

Sick and Tired!

Ahhh, we are back from Disney - in fact, I have been working on the trip report, you can start reading that here - WDW '09 TR

It went much too fast. In fact, I am in the process of planing another trip for this year *fingers crossed* it is possible! One thing that happened, and is a reflection of this post title, is that all the adults got sick! I'm not talking H1N1 'swine' flu sick...no fever, no aches, no chills - just chest congestion and stuffy nose/headaches. I figured it was from being outside in the heat and humidity and then coming indoors to frigid air conditioning.

Actually, CJ had a bit of a sinus/ear infection going on before we left and I don't think that ever cleared up. I only felt shitty at night and first thing in the morning. However, I still have all kinds of phlegm (YUM) but it seems to be clearing up nicely. CJ's mom, on the other hand, got sick the last day we were there and still feels awful and she does have a fever now.

I remember on our last trip, my mom got a sore throat and was pretty congested towards the end of the trip. Wonder if it's rather normal to get sick during vacation, just from the traveling and such?

Now that we're home, I need to find a place that has nice personalized baby gifts as I missed the baby shower for my friend Cindy while we were gone. I feel bad I missed it but besides the sickies - what a trip!
