Around 5 am my mom called to tell me they were still in the emergency room. My grandma had already had blood work done, a CAT scan and an EKG. The blood work showed some type of infection and they were going to have hematology look at it closer, to look for things such as lymphoma. Holy shit, what???? The other test results hadn't been back yet. My grandma was given lasix to clear up the fluid in her lungs.
By 9:30 am they finally had her in a room. My mom had told me that she was going to stay for a while and then was going to come back to the resort and shower. We then were going to have to discuss what to do from there.
I felt helpless but what could I do? Sit in the room and wait? It was our last day of vacation. We decided to try out the *big pool* at the resort. Originally we were thinking of going back to Animal Kingdom early, to be there when it opened and go on the safari. Well, of course that was not an option considering the previous evening's events.

We stayed there for quite a while. CJ went down the slide. THAT was the one thing that made me laugh that day, LOL. We went back to the room to relax and make sure the kids took a nap because we had reservations for the luau, The Spirit of Aloha that night at 5:15 pm.
My mom was back by this time and she told me that she decided to call my Uncle Eddie (her brother) and told him he had to come to Florida and bring my grandma home when she is discharged. HUH? Make Uncle Eddie fly to Florida just to bring grandma home when my mom WAS ALREADY IN FLORIDA?! My mom said, "hey, she's his mother too." Ooookayyyyy.........
Now, no one knew what was wrong with my grandmother yet and therefore no one knew when she'd be discharged. It was a Friday. My mom didn't have to be back to work until Wednesday. My uncle had to be in work on Monday morning. Yea, this did not make sense.
So, my mom packed up some stuff, took a shower and took a cab back to the hospital to be with my grandmother. She planned on missing dinner with us. That was fine. I was a bit annoyed with my mom anyway.
To be continued...
